Good Evening!
As the first post begins a fence, or a blog, so this first post begins my web log. What to say at such a moment? Will the fence be strong; heavy with opinion held back by years of silence? Perhaps repressed humor, trapped by the hecklers in the front row, will create a funny fence, now that the hecklers have been moved back a few rows. The public speech, with its immediate audience, may stifle creativity. The blog, the audience safely muted for a time, allows the creator to stand behind the curtain to recite personal feelings. Only later, when the curtain goes up, and the great Internet audience is free to write comments, does the author see the applause, the catcalls, the "throw the bum out!" What will you see in this blog? A plain fence, a strong fence, crooked, straight, barbed, or even shocking? Not really, we ain't building a bloomin' fence here! Wit, wisdom, poetry, politics, all are fair game when you have the stage to yourself. What will I dare in the power of this venue? I hope the joy of knowing Christ will shine through. I hope that my stories will make you laugh and think. Perhaps the next great novelist is here before you, and with a bit of constructive criticism, you can help further a new career! May God grant me the humility to both listen and learn on this adventure. Bucky
